Admission to Mensa

The Mensa Admission Test includes two tests featuring questions involving logic and deductive reasoning. If you score at or above the 98th percentile on either of the two tests, you'll qualify and be invited to join Mensa.

MWM Mensa Testing Schedule

  • Admission tests are open to anyone age 14 and older
  • Parental permission is required for ages 14-17
  • Test cost is $40 and reservations are required

Regular Testing (75-90 minutes)

  • 4 October (Sat) University of Maryland, College Park, MD (Not Metro accessible)
    • Session 1: 1-3:00 PM
    • Session 2: 3-5:00 PM
  • 18 October (Sat) Virginia Square Plaza (Community Room) - Arlington, VA (Metro accessible)
    • Session 1: 10 AM-12 noon
    • Session 2: 12 noon-2 PM
    • Session 3: 2 PM-4 PM
    • Session 4: 4 PM-6 PM
  • 29 October (Wed) Virginia Square Plaza (Community Room) - Arlington, VA (Metro accessible) New
    • Session I: 6:30 PM-8:30 PM
    • Regular tests only
    • (Tests will start at 6:30pm, but we can start as early as 6pm if everyone arrives earlier.)
  • 1 November (Sat) Ashburn Library - Ashburn, VA (Not Metro accessible)
    • Session I: 11 AM-1 PM

Cultural-Fair Testing (tests are untimed)

  • None scheduled

Registration

To register for a testing session, please email the following information about each person to be tested:

  • Full Name
  • Age
  • Preferred test type (regular or culturally-fair)
  • Preferred location and session
  • Confirmation they've never taken Mensa tests before

  • The $40 national testing fee is waived for candidates working with the media (e.g., television, radio, print, etc.) with proof in the form of a press photo ID card (and a copy of your ID) or a letter from your employer when you attend testing.
  • Local proctors may be available for group sessions at your office, school, or organization meeting place. Contact the Testing Coordinator for more information.
  • Tests may be arranged in Maryland on Friday evenings at 5 PM or Saturdays at 10 AM if there is sufficient demand.
